About Us

The Automotive Industry in India is poised for giant leap forward. It is essential for automotive engineers, technical staff and college students to keep abreast with the latest developments in the automotive technology worldwide. The ARAI Knowledge Centre stands as a specialized library and one of India’s finest library of knowledge, dedicated to automotive and allied subjects. Having an extensive collection of over 25,000 books and standards, it covers a wide array of automotive engineering topics, providing invaluable resources for research, innovation and education. The collection includes books on various topics like powertrain, emissions, NVH, brakes, fatigue, vehicle dynamics, safety, automotive electronics, automotive materials, management, soft skills, etc.

In addition to its core holdings, the centre offers access to national and international standards, including IS, ISO, DIN, BS, ASTM, and JASO. It also houses technical reports and proceedings from renowned organizations such as SAE, IME, FISITA, and SIAT, ensuring users stay abreast of the latest developments in the field. The centre subscribes to a selection of national and international journals and magazines, further enriching its offerings.

The reading hall pops out with national and international periodicals. Collection of SAE Technical papers is another value addition to the Knowledge Centre. A dedicated Hindi Section adds a cultural dimension, featuring a curated collection of Hindi novels, non-fiction books, and magazines, catering to diverse interests and promoting linguistic inclusivity. An extended Knowledge Centre was established at FID-Chakan campus to provide information services to the academy students. These two Knowledge Centres serve professionals, faculty, students and various government organizations.
