MTech in Automotive Technology

Educational Goal

Our Educational Goal is to apply a three-pronged approach integrating Research, Education & Outreach in collaboration with global Automotive Industry & Academia to produce high quality Automotive Engineers.

Admission is done based on the score of the GATE Examinations through Department of Technical Education (DTE). There are some seats reserved for candidates sponsored by Industry.

It is a two-year program, where the student’s study 3 days at COEP and two days at ARAI during first year. In the second year, 50% of the students do one full year project at ARAI and balance 50% of the students do one full year project at COEP. Each student has Guides from COEP as well as ARAI. Some of the students can do project in Industry, where he will have 3 Guides; from ARAI, COEP as well as Industry.

About COEP Technological University

COEP is an Engineering College established in 1854. It is the third oldest engineering college in Asia. The Mechanical Engineering Department was established in the year 1912 and today, Graduate, Post-Graduate and Doctoral degree courses are offered by the department. In 2003, the institute was granted complete autonomy by the Government of Maharashtra, UGC and was declared a Center of Excellence in Technical Education. It offers 9 Undergraduate and 20 Postgraduate Programmes in various disciplines.It has well equipped infrastructural lab facilities, Such as:

Sponsored: Rs. 1,89,390/- per year

Non-Sponsored: Rs. 1,59,890/- per year

Eligibility

BE / B.Tech or Equivalent Degree in Mechanical / Automobile / Production / Manufacturing Engineering or Mechatronics. Preference given to GATE qualified candidates. Some seats reserved for industry sponsored candidates.
