THE ADAS SHOW 2026 held at India’s First ADAS Test City, ARAI Mobility Research Centre, Takwe, Pune.

Pune, February 12, 2026: The Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI), an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Heavy Industries, Government of India, unveiled the operational readiness of its landmark initiative—the ADAS Test City—at THE ADAS SHOW 2026, held on February 12.

Spread across 20 acres at Takwe near Talegaon, Pune, the ADAS Test City is a first of its kind, purpose built pseudo urban environment that authentically mirrors Indian road networks and traffic conditions. Designed specifically for India, the facility enables comprehensive testing and validation of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) in a safe, secure, controlled, and repeatable setting.

As India’s first dedicated on road ADAS validation ecosystem, the Test City represents a major leap forward in automotive safety and technology readiness. It empowers manufacturers to evaluate ADAS performance under real world Indian driving scenarios—bridging the critical gap between simulation, closed track testing, and public roads.

THE ADAS SHOW, organized by M/s Aayera at the ARAI Test City, was attended by senior government officials, industry leaders, global automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and technology innovators. During the event, ARAI conducted live ADAS demonstrations, showcasing its state of the art instrumentation, testing protocols, and certification capabilities.

With the ADAS Test City now operational, ARAI reinforces its role as a national enabler for safer, smarter, and future ready mobility, positioning India at the forefront of ADAS development and validation.

Dr. Reji Mathai, Director, ARAI, said:

“Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) are central to improving road safety, and ARAI is steadfast in its commitment to enabling the transition towards safe, smart, and sustainable mobility. The ADAS Smart City Track is a landmark national initiative—India’s first dedicated on road proving ground—created to allow automotive and auto tech manufacturers to rigorously test and validate their technologies under real world Indian driving conditions.

We are grateful to the Ministry of Heavy Industries for its support under the Capital Goods Scheme, which has been instrumental in establishing the modular infrastructure required for comprehensive verification and validation of ADAS at the Test City. This facility will play a pivotal role in strengthening ADAS capabilities and enabling manufacturers to deliver world class safety solutions to Indian consumers.

Importantly, the ADAS Smart City Track will also act as a catalyst for indigenous ADAS and autonomous vehicle technology development, particularly benefiting India’s emerging start up ecosystem. In this context, platforms such as THE ADAS SHOW, organized in collaboration with M/s Aayera, are vital in fostering collaboration, knowledge exchange, and innovation across the intelligent mobility landscape.”

Mr. Syed Fareed Ahmed, Director, M/s Aayera, added:

“THE ADAS SHOW has evolved into a national platform that brings together automotive OEMs, technology leaders, and innovators to shape the future of vehicle safety and intelligent mobility in India. The forum enables meaningful dialogue and showcases rapid advancements in ADAS and next generation safety technologies that will define tomorrow’s mobility ecosystem.

By providing an immersive, real world demonstration environment, THE ADAS SHOW uniquely connects vehicle manufacturers, ADAS solution developers, and testing and validation experts. As India accelerates towards safer, smarter, and more autonomous mobility, platforms like THE ADAS SHOW—especially in collaboration with institutions such as ARAI—will play a critical role in fostering collaboration, accelerating innovation, and strengthening India’s leadership in advanced automotive technologies.”

Delegates and visitors at THE ADAS SHOW witnessed live, on track demonstrations of next generation Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), showcasing how intelligent vehicle technologies perform in real world driving scenarios.

Key highlights included demonstrations of Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Detection, Traffic Sign Recognition, Driver Monitoring, Pedestrian Detection, Night Vision Systems, Traffic Jam Assist, and Automatic Parking, among others.

The immersive demonstrations underscored the growing role of ADAS in enhancing road safety, driver awareness, and automated driving readiness, reinforcing India’s rapid progress towards safer and smarter mobility solutions.
