ARAI achieves major milestone in Emission & Performance Evaluation of CPCB IV+ Diesel Engines fuelled with Bio-diesel (B20 & B30)

Evaluation of CPCB IV+ Compliant Diesel Engine with B20 and B30 Fuel Blends

We are delighted to announce the successful completion of our developmental project titled
“Evaluation of CPCB IV+ compliant diesel engine with B20 and B30 fuel blends.”

Under this study, the CPCB IV+ base diesel engine was rigorously evaluated for emissions and
performance using diesel, B20, and B30 bio-diesel blends. The test results demonstrated a
significant reduction in CO, HC, NOx, PM, and smoke, reaffirming the strong environmental
benefits of bio-diesel.

A 500-hour durability test was conducted to assess long-term performance. Post-test evaluations
confirmed no deviation in engine power, efficiency, or emissions, validating the robustness and
compatibility of CPCB IV+ engines with B20 and B30 blends.

The official development test report was handed over by Dr Dr. Reji Mathai, Director – ARAI,
to Mr Gaurang Shah, Chairman & Managing Director – Kotyark Industries Ltd.

We extend our gratitude to Kirloskar Oil Engines Limited (KOEL) for providing the engine support
essential for this project.

This achievement strongly aligns with the Bio-diesel Policy of Ministry of Petroleum and
Natural Gas Govt of India, further encouraging India’s transition toward cleaner, sustainable,
and renewable energy solutions.
