ARAI Hosts Expert Workshop on Tyre Abrasion Performance

As part of its year-long Diamond Jubilee celebrations, the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) organized a specialized workshop on Tyre Abrasion Performance, bringing together leading experts and industry professionals for an engaging and insightful technical exchange.

The workshop featured distinguished international speakers, Mr. Roland Bosl (ZF Germany) and Mr. Jean‑Dominique Perrot (Michelin, France), who shared global perspectives on tyre abrasion technologies, testing methodologies and international standards.

The session was chaired by Shri Akbar Badusha, Senior Deputy Director & HoD (VEL, HMR and PLIC). Dr. B. V. Shamsundara welcomed the guests and Mr. V. S. Khairatkar convened the workshop.

Participants gained in-depth knowledge of the drum and convoy methods used for tyre abrasion measurement and the evolution of tyre abrasion standards from initial research to globally accepted benchmarks.

More than 40 automotive specialists participated in the workshop. The event concluded with an interactive Q&A session focusing on technical challenges and India-centric solutions, reinforcing ARAI's commitment to innovation, knowledge sharing and technical excellence.
