ARAI Kicks Off National Green Hydrogen Mission’s Transport Pilot with Tata, Volvo, IOCL, HPCL & NTPC

ARAI is pleased to announce that the Project Agreement (Memorandum of Understanding) between
ARAI and the selected organizations has been successfully signed today for Phase I of the
Pilot Project on the use of Green Hydrogen in the Transport Sector under the National Green

As the Scheme Implementing Agency, ARAI organised the signing event with consortium partners,
including ANERT (Agency for New and Renewable Energy Research and Technology), Tata Motors
Commercial Vehicles & Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation
Limited & Volvo Group and NTPC Limited, in the presence of representatives from the Ministry
of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) and the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways – India.

Dr. Prasad Chaphekar, Deputy Secretary, MNRE, highlighted the significance of the project that
will be seen as an example not only in India but across the world. Shri @KC Sharma, Chief Engineer
(MVL), MoRTH, congratulated the selected organisations and emphasised the need for this project
to take India towards a greener future.

As India moves towards Viksit Bharat, Pilot Project for Use of Green Hydrogen in the Transport
Sector will play a pivotal role in helping the country realise its goal of Net Zero mission.

of Petroleum and Natural Gas Govt of India for their unwavering support and congratulations
