Welcome to ARAI Knowledge Centre (Library)
Reading Hall
ARAI Knowledge Centre, set up in 1975, is a fully automated special library and is one of the finest libraries in India having specific collection in Automotive and related subjects. The primary goal is to cater to all types of information needs of in-house researchers; the Knowledge Centre also serves professionals in the field of Automotive Engineering, students and various Government organizations in respect of Automotive and allied subjects.
Periodical Section
 

During 2011, ARAI Knowledge Centre is renovated to give it a good look as well as convenience for referring and reading the books. The KC was inaugurated by Mr.Richard Kleine, President of SAE International, USA on 15th March 2011 in the presence of Shri Shrikant R. Marathe, Director - ARAI.

The renovation undertaken has greatly improved Knowledge Centre's environment, comfort, safety & security by addition of centralized A.C. system, fire alarm system and Digital Video Recorder (DVR) system. Additionally, the seating capacity has been tripled to 80 nos. It also has few carrels for peaceful & concentrated reading.

Its vision is to cater to the information / knowledge needs of its users by providing value-added and user focused services.

Knowledge Centre contributes to the fulfillment of the ARAI's Mission by :
 
Selecting, acquiring, organizing, maintaining & providing access to a collection of resources that will support research & development, testing and educational activities.

Carrels
 
Publishing monthly periodical "Automotive Abstracts", a monthly survey of automotive and related technical literature.
  Responding to the needs of the internal / external members/customers.
  Providing users induction, personal assistance in conducting literature research & other reference services.
 
Enhance library resources, staff and services through training and upgradation.
   
Library transaction timings are from Monday to Friday from 09.00 to 16.30 hrs.
