An NABL Accredited and ISO 9001 compliant Automotive Materials Laboratory (AML) provides services for testing, characterization, calibration and certification of Materials & Products. The Vision is to create Center of Excellence in Materials under NATRiP

To promote projects on use of advanced materials like high strength steels (HSS), aluminum, magnesium & titanium alloys, plastics & composites, nano-composites, NVH materials, shape memory alloys for automotive applications.

Create laboratory for tribology studies on engine & drive train components.

Provide services in alternate fuel quality analysis.

Infrastructure to ban, control & restrict use of environment concerned hazardous substances (RoHS), and promote use of recyclable materials so as to meet EU regulations on end of life of vehicles (ELV).
