ARAI is an authorised testing agency under Rule 126 of the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, since 1989, as notified by the Ministry of Shipping Road Transport and Highways, for testing and certifying vehicles and engines. ARAI is also a notified agency by the Ministry of Environment and Forests, for
testing and certifying Generator set engines.
ARAI carries out certification work for the following types of Vehicles and
Engines used for both automotive and non-automotive applications.
